Guitarist Steve Kirby (“a guitarist of rippling technique and a poetic mind”- Downbeat Magazine) is an Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music and teaches for Berklee online. He has appeared on multiple recordings, including three as a leader, “Point Of Balance,” “North Light” (Challenge Records)—and “Illuminations” (WCS records). Kirby’s original music has been played on over 100 radio stations in the US and internationally, including nationally syndicated shows like NPR’s “Here and Now” and “Jazz with Bob Parlocha,” and his compositions have won awards in the International Songwriting Competition, the Billboard Song Contest and Downbeat Magazine.
A New England Conservatory of Music graduate, acoustic and electric bassist Mark Poniatowski is in demand as a session player and arranger. Performance highlights include concerts with Sid Caesar, Floyd Dixon, Janiva Magness, Rita Moreno, Bob Newhart, and Junior Watson, the Toni Lynn Washington Band, the Boston Blues Festival, and the Boston Globe Jazz Festival with the Bruce Katz Band. Recordings include “Two Sides” with Joe Bargar and the Soul Providers, “Mississippi Moan” with the Bruce Katz Band, “Fun Out of Life” with April Hall, and The George Carlin Show soundtrack.
